This week's Bassmaster Open Tournament brought us to Logan Martin in Alabama and gave us an opportunity to stay at a new RV Resort, Angler's Pointe. Nestled along the shoreline, this incredible resort offers some really unique amenities, and at this moment, 1.5 million people have agreed with us on social media. So we wanted to take a moment and share a full review and more details of what they have to offer.
Accommodations at Angler’s Pointe cater to every lodging preference. Whether you prefer the cozy charm of a tiny home, a larger cottage, a hotel-type room with the bungalow, a unique stay like their covered wagon or glamping tents, or the convenience of an RV site, this resort has something for everyone. You can see in the video that we posted that they truly go the extra mile making the accommodations beautiful. We loved that family or friends that came were able to stay at the same resort as us so we could easily hangout throughout the day.
Our Accommodations:
We opted for a platinum plus RV site for the covered awning, concrete pad, and private pier/dock. This site is site 135. Mostof the platinum plus sites resemble this layout. The platinum and platinum plus RV sites are also closest to the on-site boat launch which is extremely convenient for early mornings and late nights when the guys launch.
Now that we are talking about convenience, LOCATION is on point. If your tournament venue is Lincoln Landing, it is literally right next door. Each day we walked to the weighins and we were able to watch the launch from our private dock. It is also just a mile or so from Interstate 20 and very easy to get to from the interstate. The resort can also receive door-dash orders if you want to order out. The nearest town is about 5 miles away and is equipped with a Publix, Walmart, TJ Max, Ulta, Hobby Lobby, and more. We ate at the nearest sushi place (wonderful) and also at The Tavern at the St Clair where the salads were especially great.
Okay back to Angler's Pointe Resort. There is also a shaded dog park on site.
Mo and his cousin Sugar took advantage of some free-reign play time. And it was super clean which isn't always the case for dog parks. And another perk is that it is located in the corner of the resort where there are mature trees so plenty of shade during the hot summer months.
The resort also has an open field that hosts events like concerts and vendors. Their next one is celebrating the fourth of July and will be held the weekend prior (June 29). Be sure to check their website for full details: www.anglerspointe.com
Wifi: I realize that when some travel for leisure, wifi isn't important but many of you travel and work like I do. I had my starlink, but struggled because of the gorgeous tree behind our RV. There is wifi provided by the resort and it had enough strength to run the TV but not upload or download any hi res files very well. If you are staying in one of the other lodging options, bring your roku or favorite streaming device and you can use their wifi to be able to watch the programs you prefer.
Boat Parking: For our tournament anglers, this is a big one. We had plenty of space to park at the Platinum Plus sites. Some of the other sites may not be able to accomodate both RV and boat and truck so be sure to ask before you select a site. Some of our friends staying were able to park their boat about 20 yards away and run a power cord. For the tiny homes, parking accommodates two vehicles at this time so youll have to unhook truck from boat overnight. I did see the staff allowed some to park their truck and boats at the office in their storage area. The bunglows did have a bit longer parking in front of each unit where a truck and trailer could park. From my experience with the staff, they will do all they can to accommodate to make sure you are setup.
Recommendations:
The traditional RV sites are nice and shaded and also have a water view, but if you want a patio, concrete pad, and a covered awning, I cannot recommend the Platinum sites any greater. Yes, they are a splurge, but it was truly the best area to hang out, even when it rained, we were protected. And when it rained (and you know it did because it's April in Alabama, lol) it wasn't deafening loud in the RV which was especially nice.
If friends or family are coming to visit that do not RV, there are several types of accomodations to consider. If it's more than 2 adults, I would recommend the larger cottage over the tiny home. In my opinion, it would be a tight space for 3 or more adults.
We cannot wait to come back and even utililize the convenience of the park for an overnight stay since it is so close to I-20.
